A vibrant color scheme of hard fired enamels brings this ring to life. This technique is called Pierced and soldered Champleve’ enamel.  A piece of sterling silver, thin gauge (22g), has a delicate designs pierced out with a jewelers saw. That piece is then carefully silver soldered to a thicker gauge (18g) of sterling silver. Then the ring is formed and soldered together.

Glass enamels are applied to the recesses of the piercing, then fired @ 1450 degrees, allowing the glass to permanently fuse to the silver.

Once the piece is finished through a process of grinding and re-firing, a gloss develops across the rings surface.
