The technique used in the making of this bowl was an innovation of Pauline’s.  A base layer of clear glass enamel powder is sifted onto the copper. One by one tiny glass beads are set onto and into the powder base. the piece is fired for a bit longer than normal to allow the beads to “flow”. this creates a mosaic type effect when finished.  One of Pauline’s first glass bead mosaic pieces: A Walk in The Park”, is in the Carpenter ENAMEL MUSEUM in Covington Ky.
