Sterling silver ring made by the process of carving a design into a specialized jewelers charcoal block, then melting silver directly into the cavity and then compressing the molten metal into the carving with another charcoal block.

Speed and accuracy are a must in this process.  After the casting is created, the ring is constructed using jewelry fabrication techniques.

Once the ring is fabricated the recesses in the cast top are filled with glass enamels and fired in  a kiln at 1450 degrees, until melted and glossed over. This may take several additions and firings to fill the recesses adequately.
