This vessel is made of sterling silver. The metal is textured by hand with tiny steel tools, called matting tools.

After the metal is textured it is placed over a plastic matrix die. The matrix die is a sheet of Acrylite plastic with a cut out shape in the center. Under the pressure of a hydraulic press, urethane is pressed over the metal over the recess and the metal conforms to the cut out.  the Acrylite is turned over and the mirror image shape for the second side is created. Those two sides are soldered together, and the central shapehttp://www.paulinewargdesignsllc.com/PWDWP15/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=portfolio is made.

The rest of the vessel is fabricated using traditional metal /jewelry making techniques.

The stopper has a green tourmaline set into it.  The dangles on the chain attachment are terminated with fresh water pearls on sterling wire.
