Tool Quest is a unique project as a Book / Box. The project was created as an homage to a treasure chest of antique metalsmithing tools.  There was an advertisement in the Society of American Silversmiths newsletter.

A collection of very specialized handmade tools were being sold by a career silversmith who worked for companies such as Gorham and Kirk & Sons. Mr. Charest Was known for his “Baltimore” style of chasing and repousse’.

The story in the “book” Tool Quest tells of Pauline’s journey to purchase these tools, Mr. Charest, and the amazing acquisition . It’s a love story, embellished with metal pages created with the tools of this collection.

The box itself is made from copper and brass. The story is printed and applied to brass pages and specialty papers.
