This feels good just to hold. The small hollow construction beads feel like a series of tiny vessels. There is something about beads. Each of the larger beads is fabricated from 18K yellow gold on one side and sterling silver on the opposite side. The silver and the gold sides are hand tooled to give texture and design interest to each one. Each of the 7 beads with reversible gold /silver sides is completely, individually constructed. The tubular bead are also hand constructed and have 18K yellow balls soldered onto them.The silver is oxidized to give a drama and richness to the surface and accent the intricate designs on each bead.
This necklace is similar to the 2 tier necklace featured on the cover of MAKING METAL BEADS by Pauline Warg ( LARK Books). The beads are strung on a sterling silver chain with soldered on end caps.
The necklace is 21″ long end to end.
